Born in 1991 to a Chinese mother and Dutch father, I grew up in Lelystad, Holland, and moved to the UK aged 8. In 2012 I graduated with a Combined Studies degree in the Social Sciences from the University of Manchester, and in 2018 I was awarded the inaugural Crowdfunded BAME Writers' Scholarship to study Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. Since 2016 my short fiction has been selected for a number of publications, including by Bluemoose Books, Dead Ink Books and Cōnfingō Publishing, among others. I was 2019's Northern Word Factory Apprentice, mentored by Carys Davies. I am working on my first collection of stories and making a start in literary translation, translating from Dutch, my native tongue.
